Tadpole update ~

We have one little tiny frog! (approx 5mm) His legs have popped out and his tail is very quickly shrinking. So very cute!
____
...And whilst were talking frogs – Check out this gorgeous purse I’ve brought for Em from Saysie. It’s going to be a thank you gift from the tadpoles/frogs, as Emma has been so good at looking after them.

You can buy these fab purses in Saysie’s Etsy shop. ~ Super cute fabrics :)

How to make Daddy smile…

… Turn one of his Everton shirts into a dress for his little girl! (And yes, I did have permission to cut up one of his many shirts). It’s not finished yet, but you can see a few wip images…
Apologies for the images, my camera doesn't seem to like this fabric ?
___
The original Tee
Front and back cut to Emma’s size and re-stitched at the shoulders. I used a bit of detailed fabric from the original arms to add to the bottom (sides of the dress).

Making it a bit more girly! – bright pink ribbon on both shoulders and across the bottom, with felt flowers and pink buttons.
Should look great once it's all finished :)
____
I’m actually making 2 dresses at the moment - the Everton one is for a party we are going to next Saturday (football themed as it’s FA cup final day), and the other (below) is for my niece's Christening next month…
___
As you can see Emma really wasn’t in the mood to try this on this morning! Miss grumpy pants wouldn’t even stay still for me to take a pic (lol)
___
Close up of broderie anglaise fabric and pink grosgrain ribbon
___
I will blog them both again when they’re finished. ~ Hopefully with a happy child in them :)

wip -

This week has flown by! The highlight of the week was Em starting pre-school on Tuesday, which seemed to upset me more than her (lol).
I’ve also started to make my own header image for the new website. After having many ideas, I finally decided to do an appliqué piece of Em with her Bibby & Bobby! Here are a few pics I’ve taken this week …
Sketches and ideas
wip Emma

I cut out Bibby, but I think the felt is a bit dark so i'm waiting for some more felt to arrive from paper&string.
___
It’s going to take a while to get finished, but I think it will look great on the website. Plus Em can also have the finished piece to hang in her bedroom. =D

Bibby & Bobby

A somewhat strange title for a blog post – but Bibby & Bobby are in fact Emma’s two imaginary elephant friends! She talks to them (or about them) at random times throughout the day and yesterday, whilst walking to the post office, she told me a lovely little story about Bibby & Bobby. I nearly cried at the detail she went into about there little adventure to the library in town, via BigW, the cake shop and the toy shop!
Then when we got home this scrummy fabric had arrived in the post …
___
Cute Japanese elephant print fabric

So when I started making some buttons with it I immediately thought it best to name the little elephants Bibby & Bobby just for Emma ….
__
So here are Bibby & Bobby the Button Bobbles!

Em loves them – It’s just unfortunate that she won’t keep any hair accessories in for longer than 2 minutes!! So these ones are now listed in my Tuggle shop.
___
And talking of Emma – I couldn’t believe it today when I was looking through our many photos of her. Here is a picture from mid April last year ….. (Taken 15/04/07)

It was a scorcher of a day! We even had to place some chairs next to the paddle pool to protect Em from the sun.
… And remember the pics from last weekend HERE. (5/04/08)

What a difference! Come on sun, we want to start planting some seeds up and doing a bit of gardening.

p.s - Happy Birthday Bro. xx
