Some Flickr Favourites

I love this octopus and jellyfish (4) embroidery by Tammie Snow. One day (when I have a bit more time on my hands) I will get back into doing more hand embroidery. These embroidery patterns are just too cute! pimpstitch

Half a worm!

We're not great gardeners, but we do love spending time in the garden and planting a few seeds every spring. Here are some pics I've taken over the past few weeks...
Em obviously loves getting her hands dirty and doing a bit of hunting for worms and caterpillars!
Digging for worms...

Found one! Can you see it on Em's spade? lol
Emma then said, 'What's all that coming out the middle?'
So I said, 'That's his belly coming out! You've just cut him in half with your spade!!'
This was then followed by Emma finding the other half...
Other half!
... and her tyring to glue them back together with a bit of mud! Poor worm :(

Fair and fabric

Mere Green -
The fair on Saturday went really well. It was full of lovely handmade crafts and some very friendly crafters & customers. By far the best table was this one ...

It's Ethel and her super sillies and fabulous cupcake pin cushions!
___
The last time I saw Ethel she was dressed like this ...
So I must say it was a relief to see her looking a little less Ginger and a bit more posh!
( hehe ~ that's payback for taking such a horrid photo of me :D )
___
& here is a photo of my table...
I've never been very good with presentation! I just turn up and lay it all onto the table - very flat and boring. I must invest in some boards if I'm going to do more fairs in the future.
You can see a larger/noted pic here
___
I had a good day for sales and had lots of lovely comments about the button bracelets and brooches. I actually only had 3 button bracelets left by the time the fair came around, so last Thursday I had to quickly order in more stock which has arrived today.

So now I have a new batch of button blanks I can start making some more bracelets with these gorgeous new fabrics.

ttfn - I will be back tomorrow with a freebie!!

Time out

I'm taking a couple of weeks off from Monday, so any orders placed on the website will not be sent out till after Monday 4th August. Sorry for any inconvenience caused, but I really need some quiet time with the family.
___
I made some of these today for the fair - Little fabric button pendants...

I don't have any chains to put them on, but I'm hoping they will be snapped up at only £1.90 each. I think I'm all ready for the fair now, just hope the day goes well and the weather brightens up a bit. __
Anyway, must get on with some orders. Be sure to check in on Tuesday as I will be doing a special Birthday freebie post :)

Button Bracelets

After admiring these on Etsy for such a long time I decided to give them a go. Fabric button bracelets ...

Thanks to GK for sending me some of the bracelet blanks to have a play with. I'm really pleased with the way these look. The 3 above have all been made with Amy Butler fabric.
I've listed them on my website - but I only have limited stock at the moment as I'm waiting for more bracelet blanks to arrive.

Button Keyrings and Robot Magnets

I've not had time to put together the 'make your own' kits on the new website yet as I've been busy with other stuff. But this is an idea for one of the kits. Button keyrings with crochet cotton and felt flowers. I've made a few of these for my next fair, but need to sit down and sort out the 'how to make' bit before adding the packs to the website. They are very easy to make and will look fab on any set of keys :)
_____

♥ I LOVE these robot fridge magnets. Made on my button machine using flat back button shanks, with magnets glued onto the back.

28mm fabric button magnets
_____

I’ve been saving little off cuts of fabric from the buttons for a rainy day. But whilst making stuff for the fair on the 19th I had a brilliant idea to use them to make some lovely fabric cards ...

Cute fabric cards - 1. Japanese elephant print fabric, 2. applique flowers with button detail, 3. Russian doll card, 4. felt flower with ladybird button, 5. Japanese elephant card, 6. Crochet flower with ladybird button.

Jam

We seem to have so many strawberries in the garden this year, so at the weekend we decided to make some jam ~ With the help of the bread machine that is!
There's nothing better than having homemade jam on homemade bread in the morning :)

Before...
1. strawberries, 2. sugar, 3. lemons, 4. apples

& After
Yummy homemade jam with funky jam skirt.
All I need now is one of Lucykate's jam jar toppers - The most adorable jam skirt in the whole world!
Thanks to gardenhoe, sazzy & sophiemostly for the great images :)

Fun at the farm

I took Em to Stonehurst farm in Mountsorrel this morning ... Or 'Big Barn Farm' as Em called it!

1. tractor ride, 2. baby quail, 3. fluffy rabbit, 4. baa

___
We had great fun until a rather large cow mooed in her face and a goose took a nip at her finger!!
It's always nice to watch her trying new things - And it's official she REALLY loves the fluffy rabbits!
